Be Careful in Your Executive Job Search with Social Media[/caption]
The following is from a book from my Aunt Helena, "Three Minutes A Day" Volume 45, from Christophers.org.
This is a book that has daily 3 minute readings that are everyday inspirational with a religious quote at the end.
My reading for today is titled, "Invisible Do-Not-Hire Lists?" I am sharing the reading today with you directly from the book: It pays for job hunters to be aware of possible pitfalls so they don't inadvertently trip up their own job search. A Wall Street Journal story mentions some areas of concern.
Recruiters mainly want to weed out "liars, losers, and misfits." But an applicant might also be blacklisted for exaggerating qualifications or making silly jokes not seen as funny in an interview. Even if they don't admit it, hiring managers often keep unofficial tallies of undesirable applicants. There are also career dangers in posting inappropriate or inaccurate information on social media sites such as Facebook.
One recruiter herself in a way that would not align with the company's philosophy and ethics." On-line or in person, maintain your values and make a positive impression.
Righteous lips are the delight of a king, and he loves those who speak what is right (Proverbs 16::13)  Guide me in always being truthful and honorable, Paraclete.
Have a wonderful and great week-end recharging  for next week.
Warmly,
